Hi, We’re Kim & Rob Warfield
At Wardog Ranch, we understand firsthand the struggles that can come with mental health issues like PTSD, depression, anxiety, and grief. That's why we founded Wardog Ranch Reins of Change in 2018, after Rob, a Marine Corps veteran, experienced little success with traditional therapy. Kim's background in horse training and veterinary medicine led us to Equine Assisted Learning, and after researching Equine Therapy, we knew we had found something special. Since then, we have seen the benefits of Equine Assisted Learning not only for ourselves, everyone in our family, but also for all of our clients.
This is Rock, his full name is Rockineffort and he was born on May 10th, 1998. He was a very successful barrel racer and is now an absolutely amazing therapy horse! we call him our polar bear because he is big, fuzzy and white.
Nike, full name; Troublesome Thomas, was born June 1st, 1997 was also a very successful barrel racer. He has taken to the job of therapy horse like he was always meant to do it! He is so loving and wants all the hugs and snuggles he can get. He is intuitive and just a full cuddle bug.
This is Chevy, his full name is Lilys Looker and he was born on Feb. 19th, 2010. Chevy tried his hand at several jobs before coming here. He has definitely found his calling! He is funny and sweet. A very affectionate guy who likes to just rest his chin on your shoulder and likes to give kisses!
This is Jericho. Jericho is what is known as a “grade” gelding, so we do not have information about when he was born, and he doesn’t have his front top teeth- so he is not giving any clues! He was a roping horse who was on the cover of Rodeo News magazine at one time. He has been an incredible therapy horse and has helped so many people since he came to us!
Presley, whose full name is Lil Angel Cake was born on July 27th, 2004. She was also a roping horse in her previous life. She is easily the best therapy horse I have ever seen work. She always seems to know what a person needs and how to help them. She is gentle and so kind and patient.
Meet Della, full name is Bobs Della. She was born on March 31st, 2003. She was a brood mare at T Cross Ranch before coming to us. She was pregnant when she came to us, and has been an amazing mama. She has been a consistent and truly beautiful therapy horse ever since.
